A Responding Associate Member is a member of another EMS or Fire department who is willing to assist the Brigade at emergency incidents whenever possible.
Requirements:
1. May respond to emergency calls to the level that s/he is trained, under the direction of a line officer.
2. Must pass a physical examination by a licensed physician and supply proof of the exam to be inserted into his or her personnel file. Per the current SOGs, this will be required, at a minimum, every three (3) years for members age 18-29, every two (2) years for members age 30 to 39, and annually for members age 40 and above, or as recommended otherwise by the Brigade’s physician or the member’s physician.
3. May respond with blue or red lights if permitted by the home department, and in accordance with the Brigade’s SOGs.
4. May attend Brigade drills and other training.
5. May attend meetings.
6. May participate in fundraising activities.
7. Must attend, or show proof of attendance at drills deemed mandatory by the Brigade.
8. Must provide proof of credentials and/or certifications to be placed in the Brigade's personnel files.
9. May be given door and alarm codes at the discretion of the Chief.
10. Shall not borrow equipment from the Brigade for personal use.
11. Shall not have any voting privileges.
12. Shall not hold elected or appointed office.
